Pack a light sweater or two in the event the weather makes a sudden turn or there is a travel emergency. The clock has been set back an hour, the temperature has fallen drastically and bright colors are a huge hit on the runways this Fall. It’s always refreshing when we get a burst of sunshine and warmth in the middle of the cold season. Yesterday was no exception when the thermometers were at a record high of 80 degrees F. This makes for the perfect excuse to be fashion forward and wear trends for Spring and Summer 2013. So what’s on the 2013 fashion runways?  Bright,  warm hues for men and women. The colors peach, red orange and persimmon are sure to be crowd pleasers  just to name a few. In the mean time, stay warm and watch out for the next weather anomaly.

They are everywhere in coats, pants, tops, accessories and my favorite, shoes. Suede and pony hair shoes are in with a variety of colors and prints! Fall is in full swing and there is the cold weather and majestic colors in the changing leaves on the trees to prove it. The great thing about fashion, especially  for this season is that all the beautiful Fall colors are trending on runways, which makes for more colorful, warm fashion pieces. One trending color of the season is burgundy/wine red. This color embodies sophistication, and lots of class. It’s everywhere! Add a burgundy accessory or two to your outfit to spurce it up. 🙂

It is the season for textured fabrics such as velvet, suede, leather etc, sparkles, shine, glamour and the colored skinny jeans. I must confess it took me a while to be a fan and now I am hooked. I first fell in love when I saw the colored skinny jeans in one of my favorite colors. From then on I knew it would be one of my fashion staples for Fall. You can find them in a variety of vibrant colors and cuts from your favorite stores. My personal favorites are from Ann Taylor. For the girl on a budget you can find the colored skinny jeans at Old Navy for $19. These jeans are so versatile you can rock them with just about anything pumps, boots, peplum tops, button down shirts, sweaters and more.  Have fun with the latest trends even if it is only for the season.

Ok ok it is official Fall is here and it is going nowhere and I have the climate to prove it! Almost without warning the temperature dropped from the high 70’s to the 60’s. Brrrrrrr……But who is complaining, there is still lots to look forward to namely the season’s fashion and family holidays. This past Saturday was the first day of Fall and I am already sad. The great thing is that I have next summer to look forward to and as always fashion is alive and kicking. There are so many trends to choose from this Fall you will never get bored. One such trend is the over sized clutch…. small enough to tote around without much hasell and still large enough to carry all your girly essentials such as your ipad, mobile phone, makeup etc. It’s the perfect accessory for transitioning from the office to dinner. And it will definitely be useful for years to come.

Wearing white after Labor Day is no longer a fashion faux pas. For those who thread on the side of caution, incorporating a few pieces of white with an outfit may do the trick. For others, layering white with Fall colors is within the limit of  their comfort zone. Then there are those of us who are a little more carefree and wear white without fear. Though Summer fashionably ended on Labor Day we still have a few almanac days left to enjoy the warm sunny days ahead. Luckily blues and brights have spilled over into what’s in for Fall fashion giving ample opportunities to extend summer wears and save a few bucks for Christmas shopping. One summer activity that extends into Fall are cruises. There is no better way to spend a cool evening than sailing the seas over dinner and cocktails in Summer/Fall transitional pieces in timeless colors. Enjoy transitional fashion and happy sailing!
